Visualizing Resistance: Art for Social Change

  • Kimmel Center at New York University 60 Washington Square South New York, NY, 10012 United States (map)

Art has historically and universally been used as a tool for storytelling, activism, resistance, and revolution. This workshop will explore the intersections between a body in noncompliance and art as a medium for social and political change. What does art allow our bodies and minds to do both as artists and as art observers? Join our panel of five artistsChi Nguyen, Josh McPhee, Tomie Arai, and Ayesha Akhtar—as we reimagine how we can use art as a radical means of taking action.
